Choices

I love to write in a journal and have done it for most of my life. I've always found it helpful, especially when I feel overwhelmed by stuff. Sometimes I just have to get that stuff out of my head and down on paper. I pretty much can usually talk myself into seeing the right path I need to go down when I write.

And it's different when I put pen to paper in my journal than if I type it out on a computer. This morning I have been reflecting on the choices I have made, I know they have shaped me into the woman I am today. I have no regrets but this quote made me wonder what they reveal about me.

I'm not going to sit here and tell you that after two pages of journal writing I sorted that out! But it is something new to think about and I've got it tucked into the back of my mind now.

As I'm still working on my revision for the Joker's Wild book and applying and analyzing choices is a lot easier when I do it to a character, I'm using it for Talia and for Darien. Talia is pretty straight forward I think. She is convinced she needs to get out of Las Vegas but every choice she's made...through her good heart has meant she's not been able to leave. That's her journey, working through the fact that no matter how hard she tries to convince herself she needs to leave Vegas and the world of gambling behind she can't.
