Growing up in a loving home where creativity was encouraged, Katherine never imagined writing would become her career. She loved making up stories for her sisters and swim teammates, but it wasn't until she was ready to return to a career she didn't love that she began to wonder if writing might be a way to stay home with her daughter.

She began writing and submitting manuscripts in 1993 and made her first sale to Harlequin Books in 1996 with The Bachelor Next Door. The book was deeply emotional and sensual, earning Katherine a place on Harlequin's Woman to Watch list and later being selected by Cosmopolitan magazine as a Woman Under 30 Who Does Everything. It went on to be translated into more than 33 languages.

 

Since then, Katherine has written more than 150 novels spanning contemporary romance, romantic suspense and stories with a little bit of magic. Her books have appeared on bestseller lists, received award recognition and been chosen for special features by publications including Cosmopolitan, Barnes & Noble and Library Journal.

 

Katherine loves writing about relationships, particularly the messy, complicated and wonderfully unexpected parts of falling in love. Her stories explore the things we all face—self-doubt, body image, second chances, difficult choices and sometimes falling for exactly the wrong person. A Florida girl at heart, Katherine has made her home in Kent, England, where she enjoys beach walks, coffee, cooking, shopping and finding a little everyday magic. When she's not writing, she can usually be found with a book in her hands or dreaming up her next story.
