It’s hard to believe I’m on book 5 of the Price Security series! I’m thrilled to share a first look at my newest title, Relentless Pursuit. Writing Jena and Rick’s story was a journey full of tension, danger, and—yes—a little romance. If you’ve been following the series, you know the stakes just keep getting higher. And for new readers, don’t worry—you can jump in with this story and experience the thrill right from the start.

This book almost came to me fully formed. Jena is a dominant, determined woman. Her best friend was raped, murdered, and left on the side of the road. Local cops have no leads, even though Jena suspects it was her ex-boyfriend—Tomas Vectra. Her need for justice is urgent, personal, and dangerous.

Rick can’t stand to see any woman in danger, but Jena’s case is even more special. This is more than a job…keeping Jena safe turns all too personal.

Rick Stone held the broken, dirty cigarette loosely in his hand. He wasn’t going to light it. Or was he? It had been a long day—the longest in years since he’d quit. No one was around to see him… but he would.

Then he heard something behind him. A woman lurched around the corner, wearing only one shoe, her sequined dress strap torn. Her mascara had run, her hands trembled, and she ran straight toward him.

“Are you Rick Stone?”

“I am. Are you okay?”

“No… My brother gave me your name. I need help.”

Her fear was raw, immediate. Rick’s instincts kicked in. “Come on, let’s get you inside.” He led her through the secured doors of the building, toward his apartment, keeping a careful eye on their surroundings.

She clutched his trench coat around her, trembling. “Where are you taking me?”

“My apartment. We’ll get you safe and talking. No cops… not yet.”

She nodded, eyes wide, gripping the coat as if it were a lifeline. Rick guided her to the couch, offered a drink, and leaned in. “You’re safe here. Tell me what’s going on.”

Tears burned her eyes. Her hands shook violently. “I…I…don’t think… I mean, I’m not sure… How can I be?”

“What happened?”

“I…think I killed a man.”

This scene captures Rick’s protective instincts and how they clash with Jena’s need to handle things herself. Even though Rick is committed to keeping her safe, he senses there’s more she isn’t telling him. That tension drives the story and keeps the danger—and the emotional stakes—high.

If you’re new to the series, don’t worry—you can start with Relentless Pursuit and dive right into the Price Security team’s adventures. If you’ve been with me from the beginning, this book deepens the stakes and develops the characters you already know and love.
