Sunshine, Birdsong, and Pokémon

I love spring. Maybe it’s because I’m a spring baby and a Florida girl at heart. I think it definitely has something to do with the return of sunshine and all the fresh green around me.
Living in the UK, the sun rises a lot earlier than it ever did when I was living closer to the equator. Right now, the sun starts peeking over the horizon around 5:40 a.m., which is perfect for me because my alarm goes off at six. I’m one of those odd birds who likes to have a few quiet, contemplative minutes before the day officially begins.
Lately, I’ve been enjoying the fingers of light stretching into the hallway, watching them grow stronger as the clock creeps closer and closer to six.
Despite being an early riser, I’m not exactly a chatty morning person. My husband and I enjoy coffee in bed while watching videos for an hour before we really start talking to each other and get up for our walk.
All of the videos I've been about creating cool landscapes and houses in Pokopia. I’m completely addicted to the game. It has all my favourite things about cosy gaming. I get to interact with Pokémon, build them houses, and explore new areas. There’s also a small amount of farming, which isn’t really my vibe, so I’m glad it’s not essential to moving forward.
My morning walks lately have been full of birdsong, sweet rabbits darting across the path, and bright sunshine against a blue sky, making the new leaves on the trees really pop.
By nine o’clock, I’m sitting down at my desk to start writing, which suits me perfectly. I’ve had a lovely, creative, well-filling morning before I dive into my characters and story world. And honestly, the problems I create for them are always so much fun.
What are you loving most about spring this year?
