Marietta Montana is home to a lot of families.  Carson Scott and his brothers grew up there with a taciturn father and a mother who did her best to raise and nurture her sons.  She died of cancer when the youngest boys were still in high school and their father turned away from family, leaving the brothers to rely on each other which they do.  These are all novella length stories but have the same sensuality and emotional intensity that you expect from Katherine's novels
